Figment Design Laboratories - March 2018 to present.
Technologies: C, C++, NodeJS, JavaScript, Perl, Bash, Python, Flutter, Dart, MySQL Server, MariaDB, SQLite and GIT

Operating systems: Ubuntu (preferred), Linux, MacOS and Windows.

Duties:

- Wrote and developed new and well-tested code for different software projects.

- Assisted quality assurance team with testing software, investigating bugs and developing test cases.

- Created automated reports detailing transactional and customer data and utilized findings to uncover enhancements.

- Developed testable software using agile methodologies to create high-quality deliverables.

- Performed software testing and diagnosis, supporting ongoing embedded system development.

- Evaluated project requirements, identified challenges and proposed alternatives using research and data.

- Developing technical handbooks to represent the design and code of new applications.

Duties: Remote support. Daily proactive support tasks. Improvements to existing processes to increase productivity.

NodeJs:

- Transaction feed intergrated to 3rd party SAP systems.

- Multiple apps to send transaction data to 3rd party

Azure systems.

- Management API's:

Customer/card creation and maintenance for 3rd party

applications.

- Notification API's:

Provides notification messages to 3rd party providers.

- Voucher API's:

Replenish consignment airtime stock.

- Frontend API's:

Receives and controls calls from various sites.

- PPE API (Maintenance and Improvements):

Retrieval/payment of prepaid electricity.

- BP API (Maintenance and Improvements):

Payment of online bills.

- Loyalty senders (Maintenance and Improvements):

Sends transactional data to loyalty partners used to award points.

- Record retrieval:

Uses existing log files to recreate lost records.

- Simulators:

Simulate apps or POS systems for integration testing.

Work: NodeJs

Perl:

- Billing process made up of more than 10 scripts

and processes.

- Multiple roll up scripts to roll up DB data

into new tables to make DB queries and

reports more efficient and reactive.

- More than 200 active perl scripts used to generate

various reports from mysql/mariaDB databases,

including statistical and anylitical data,

notifications, third party ftp files, billing files.

- Complete blacklist process which processes

transactional records and find possibly

fraudulent cards and customers.

- Multiple extraction scripts used to extract data

and create various config files.

- Notify extraction process which takes notify type

messages and extracts to various DBs and

tables to provide near live info to allow proactive

support.

Bash:

- Script used by the support members

which allows them to effortlessly connect and

perform various actions on the site servers. Used

nearly 800 000 times in the last 3 years.

- Every day use to make adhoc processes easier

and more efficient.

- File comparison scripts.

- Script to process log files and create DB records.

- Script to aid in the collection of daily recon files.

- Multiple scripts used for monitoring.

Mysql/MariaDB:

- Creating and managing multiple active DBs and tables

with the most notable one being a complete billing DB

which is used in large part as the source for billing

processes.
